Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
He defended four early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
